U.S. News & World Report released their "Healthiest Communities Rankings 2022" and two Colorado counties made the Top 10. Douglas County ranked #3 and Broomfield County #9. Counties were scored across 10 categories: population health, equity, education, economy, housing, food & nutrition, environment, public safety, community vitality and infrastructure. According to data recently released by the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment, Colorado's unemployment rate dropped to 3.5% in May 2022, the lowest since February 2020. U.S. News & World Report released their 2022-2023 Best Places to Live in the U.S. rankings and four Colorado metro areas topped the list: Colorado Springs (2), Boulder (4), Fort Collins (54) and Denver (55). U.S. News & World Report ranked the 150 most populous metropolitan areas based on factors including quality of life, desirability, job prospects and affordability.
The recently released April 2022 Recovery Tracker report shows key economic indicators for Northern Colorado moving in the right direction. Job posting activity continued to be very high with 2.8 postings per every unemployed person. Larimer County recovered to 2019 average employment levels in August 2021, while Weld is still recovering lost jobs. BizWest broke headlines in May with news that Timnath may soon be home a Topgolf facility. Records suggest that town officials have been working with Topgolf to round out plans for a multi-story driving range facility located at Harmony and I-25. Topgolf is a huge recreational and entertainment draw, allowing golfers to play a variety of electronically scored games while enjoying food and beverage services.

The index analyzes housing market data, lifestyle metrics and economic vitality to identify markets that have a high quality of life coupled with expected housing appreciation. WalletHub, a personal finance website, recently ranked the best small cities to start a business and 17 Colorado communities made the list. A total of 1,334 small cities with populations between 25,000 and 100,000 were evaluated by factors including business costs, access to resources and business environment. Colorado communities on the front range making the Top 100 include Englewood #26, Longmont #40, Windsor #58, Loveland #65, Lafayette #74 and Fountain #82. Information and Real Estate Services (IRES) recently released their Q1 2022 MarketWatch Report and in Northern Colorado home prices were up across the board. In Larimer County, the median sales price was $571,950 for Q1-2022, an increase of 23% year-over-year. The number of closed sales was down 21% dropping to 1,216. In Weld County, the median sales price was $490,000 for Q1-2022, a 18.1% year-over-year increase. The number of closed sales was down 11.7%, coming in at 1,711. In Boulder County, the median sales price was $845,000 for Q1-2022, a 15% year-over-year increase. The number of closed sales was down 17.8%, coming in at 701.
